Quimshasa is an spanish dancefloor entertainer. Music planner at DubWeiser hosting the FunkyKitchenClub & the Fader Club, both based in Madrid.
Music lovah, keys, knobs & synths…He Grew up on the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by sea, sand and a lot of music. His first experience with music involved his father’s vinyl: Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, Eumir Deodato, Cerrone, amongst others. During his summer afternoons he discovers his passions for Latin and African percussion instruments. His good friend Zock (CookinSoul) introduces him to the exciting world of turntablism y and later on to the world of music production. His main influences are derived from jazz, soul and Jamaican music.
He learns about sampling and starts creating his own hip hop and dancehall projects, using different acapellas.
During the time he spent in Germany and UK, he submerges in electronic music. Live shows like Groove Armada, Artful Dodger y Masters at Work make him explore new sounds. Here is where he starts his career as a DJ, playing for different events, clubs and Spanish venues like Casa América, Eastpak, Kapital, Zensa Dénia, Museo Chicote, Olsen Belvedere, Chic Club, Club 111, Nidra Lounge, The House of Love at Loca FM & FunkyKitchenClub
